Juan Jose Bustos is a Mechanical Engineer from GrindoSonic, responsible for business development. Juan Jose studied engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin and did a MSc at the Catholic University of Leuven. He started his career by developing a controller for AM machines and now works at Grindosonic in business development to ensure great collaborations to help the adoption of AM.

Suraj did his bachelor studies in metallurgical engineering (2006-2010) from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP), India. Upon completion of his bachelor’s studies, he worked as a materials lab engineer in the research and development (R&D) center of Bekaert Industries Pvt. Ltd., India (Bekaert) for a period of 4 years (2010-2014). Following this, he did his master’s and Ph.D. (2014-2021) at the Department of Materials Engineering, KU Leuven. He did his Ph.D. research on ‘laser-based powder fusion additive manufacturing of highly conductive copper and copper alloys’. Starting January 1, 2021, he is working as a senior materials engineer at Amnovis BV.

Tibor van Melsem Kocsis is founder of DiManEx a company that reversed the supply chain by using the advantages of 3D printing, a digital warehouse and the incredible power of platforms.

In 2020 DiManEx was recognized by the World Economic Forum as Global Innovator.

Prior to founding DiManEx, Tibor held a number of executive roles in the commercial, supply chain, tech and manufacturing domain. He lived abroad with this family for 6 years. Inspired at Singularity University and by the many talented people he works with, he’s still learning every day.

Radu Donose has a PhD in precision engineering from KU Leuven University in Belgium and has over 10 years professional experience in high-tech product development. He is a mechanical architect in the wafer stage of latest generation of EUV lithographic machines at ASML. He is also leading the Additive Manufacturing competency group with the mission to embed additive manufacturing technologies in ASML’s toolkit for solving  design challenges in an affordable and reliable way.

Op dit moment actief als adviseur bij de Koninklijke Metaalunie. Vanuit de afdeling Teqnow worden bedrijven geïnformeerd over allerlei nieuwe technieken en over de manieren om deze optimaal in te kunnen zetten. Dit wordt gedaan vanuit ruim 40 jaar praktijkervaring op dit gebied. Tevens auteur van diverse managementboeken op het gebied van productieorganisatie en productie verbetering. Naast het werk bij de Metaalunie tevens docent bij Mikrocentrum bij de cursus Maakbaarheid.

Wilfried (Fried) Vancraen, MSc, MBA, born in 1961 in Duffel, Belgium, began his career in 1985 after receiving a Master of Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Working as a Research Engineer and Consultant at the Research Institute of the Belgian Metalworking Industry, Fried discovered 3D Printing. Passionate about this new technology and firm in his belief that it could help create a better and healthier world, he founded Materialise in July 1990. Fried holds several patents related to the technical and medical applications of 3D Printing and remains committed to using the technology to make positive changes in people’s lives.

Kris Binon is sinds 7 jaar directeur bij Flam3D, de Vlaams-Nederlandse associatie van bedrijven en organisaties actief in 3D-printing. Kris is geen expert in “alle” 3D-print technologieën - dat is ook quasi onmogelijk - maar hij kent het landschap en de verschillende spelers actief in 3D-printing. Als koepel heeft de organisatie ook een brede en neutrale kijk op de trends en evoluties in de sector.

Ulrich Thombansen works for the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in the field of laser-based manufacturing. He initiated the AMable project to support SMEs in the uptake of additive manufacturing by bringing together the most renowned technology providers across Europe. After the completion of six open calls for experiments, the team now envisions the launch of AMable as a platform for exchange and support services on demand.

Al in zijn jeugd raakte Robert gefascineerd door vormgeving en techniek. Het besef dat een goed ontwerp een positieve impact kan hebben op een groot publiek, voedde de drive om producten te creëren die écht iets toevoegen. In 1997 leidde dit tot de oprichting van ontwerpbureau Spark.  Inmiddels is Spark een hecht team van 30 gedreven professionals gevestigd in Rotterdam. Spark blijft investeren in kennis en vaardigheden die essentieel zijn in het hedendaagse ontwerpproces. Samen met Kiesz en FMI wil Robert het belang van de digitalisering van het ontwerp- en maakproces voor de medische wereld onder de aandacht brengen.

David Smitz beoefent sinds 2006 het vak als tandarts en werkt in een prachtig team van professionals bij zijn tandartspraktijk Kiesz in Oosterhout. Met een duidelijke missie en visie, een holistische kijk en gedreven door innovaties zoals 3D-scan technieken stippelt David de weg uit voor de mondzorg naar 2030.
Daarnaast is hij trotse voorzitter van de triathlonvereniging Ironmanagers Nederland in Oosterhout en nam hij deel aan het wereldkampioenschap Ironman in Hawaii (2016, 2017 en 2019) De ervaringen uit de sport drijven zijn ondernemerschap en innovatieve projecten, zoals nu ook het Shapeshifters initiatief samen met FMI en Spark.

Dick van de Ven opereert als freelance productontwerper en -ontwikkelaar. Met een achtergrond in werktuigbouwkunde, een Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design en werkervaring op een research en development afdeling is de basis gelegd voor productinnovatie.

Uitgerust met ontwerptools als Solid Works Professional en 3D-printers kunnen snelle iteraties worden gemaakt, zodat in korte tijd vele richtingen kunnen worden verkend.
